Healthy, Budget Friendly Turkey Chili Recipe

Turkey Chili Recipe
Okay, so I stole this image from Google, sue me. It basically looks like a really good picture of the chili I made. Or whatever.

Turkey chili is a great slow cooker recipe. Super cheap and easy way to feed a big group. You can really dumb this down with canned items, which is simply using a can opener and setting the crockpot to low all day long. Better yet, you can add fresh ground turkey, and a medley of beans, such as Bolt's Red Hill 13 Bean Soup Mix. Although the more fancy beans need to be soaked in water overnight first, it's more than worth the effort, and little extra change. I also add slicked carrots, corn, and diced tomatoes. Served topped with avocado slices, plain Greek yogurt (in place of sour cream, you seriously won't notice the difference), and a sprinkle of sharp cheese.

As for spices, I usually add a hearty dash of lemon pepper, red pepper, a little sea salt and Trader Joe's 21 season salute. You can skip the pepper spices all together and flavor to your liking.
